These genetically pure populations were introduced in a hatchery in Planduviar (Huesca), in which exhaustive monitoring of adaptation was performed. These native trouts died immediately after reproduction. The subsequent derived native generations showed high mortality rates, most dying before 3 years, and never reaching five years of age. The high mortality was mostly associated to stress derived handling during breeding season.
