Abstract
Teosinte (Zea mays spp.) has appeared as weed in corn fields of Aragón and Catalonia (Spain), causing important yield losses because of its control complexity. Hence, Government of Aragón has established some compulsory phytosanitary measures for farmers aimed to achieve the eradication of this weed. In addition to these legal measures, periodical surveys are conducted in order to detect new infestations, and improving in awareness of technicians and farmers in the area about the potential danger of this weed. Finally, several field and greenhouse experiments are being developed in order to learn about aspects of the biology of teosinte to improve its control.
